How to read the price list so there are no surprises in the consulting room

Six things that make clinic prices seem impossible to compare. Read them once — then compare us with anyone, row by row.

“From” means the most affordable surgeon

“Cataract from 350,000 ₸ per eye” is Dr. Zhanysbayev’s price with a basic lens. With Dr. Galiyev the same operation costs 400,000 ₸ per eye. Both figures sit in the row next to their photos.

Prices are per eye and per eyelid

That’s how the price list is written. Two eyes — two operations; two eyelids — a separate row. If you’re comparing with another clinic, ask them the same thing: for one, or for both?

Lens included — if it says so

In rows “with a lens” the lens is inside the total. Rows “without a lens” and “without the cost of the lens” are surgery only: that happens when the lens is chosen separately or placed as a second stage.

The injection drug is extra

The price of an eye injection is the price of giving it: from 180,000 ₸ per injection. Eylea, Lucentis or Ozurdex are paid for separately; the administrator will tell you their price before you book.

A complex case costs more — and you can see it

Cataract’s second price is the highest complexity category: over 70, high myopia, glaucoma, weak lens ligaments. Switch to it in the table and see the difference in advance.

What costs zero tenge

Follow-up check-ups for three months after laser correction. Laser for secondary cataract in the first three months after surgery done at RB CLINIC. The price list says exactly that: free.

Questions about RB CLINIC prices

How much does laser vision correction cost?

Right now the clinic books at a special price: PRK — 100,000 ₸ per eye until 31 October, Femto-LASIK — 250,000 ₸, ReLEx SMILE — 350,000 ₸ per eye. The list prices are 175,000, 300,000 and 400,000 ₸ per eye. The price is the same with all four laser correction surgeons. Before surgery you need diagnostics with a Pentacam corneal map — 22,000 ₸ per visit: the surgeon uses it to choose the treatment method.

How much does cataract surgery cost, and is the lens included?

Cataract treatment starts from 350,000 ₸ per eye, lens included: that’s phaco surgery with an AcrySof SA lens with Dr. Zhanysbayev. With Dr. Galiyev the same operation is 400,000 ₸ per eye. With a trifocal lens prices start from 850,000 ₸ per eye. All lenses and all three surgeons’ prices are in the table on this page.

How much does blepharoplasty cost?

With Dr. Darbuzov and Dr. Nasipov, blepharoplasty now costs 400,000 ₸ for two eyelids at the special price; the list price is 500,000 ₸ for two eyelids. With the other surgeons it is the list price: 300,000 ₸ per eyelid with Dr. Kerimzade, 400,000 ₸ per eyelid with Dr. Bigeldiyev, 175,000 ₸ per eyelid with Dr. Nurmagambetov. Two eyelids have a separate row in the price list. Upper eyelid ptosis is done only by Dr. Bigeldiyev: 500,000 ₸ per eyelid.

Why do different surgeons charge different prices?

At RB CLINIC each surgeon has their own price list, agreed with the clinic. The operation is the same, but the doctors’ experience and number of surgeries differ. We show each doctor’s price in the row so you choose for yourself instead of finding out the difference in the consulting room.

Is the price per eye or for both?

How much do eye diagnostics and an ophthalmologist consultation cost?

“Standard” eye diagnostics — 20,000 ₸ per visit. Before laser correction and for keratoconus — 22,000 ₸ per visit; before cataract surgery and for glaucoma — 40,000 ₸ per visit. An ophthalmologist consultation with a back-of-the-eye exam — from 7,000 ₸ per visit.

How much does glaucoma and retina treatment cost?
