Hooded eyelid or ptosis — check in 10 seconds
When upper-lid skin rests on your lashes, you look tired and may even see less. Upper blepharoplasty removes the excess skin in 60–70 minutes, and the stitch hides in the lid crease.

Hooding or ptosis
If skin has settled on your lashes but the lid edge is where it should be, it’s hooding. If the lid edge itself has dropped and covers the pupil, it’s ptosis. Removing skin for ptosis is like trimming the curtains when the rail is broken.
You can have both at once. Then removing skin alone won’t help: the lid will stay low. That’s why the surgeon checks the lid-edge height and muscle strength before surgery.
Marked hooding blocks the upper and side parts of your field of vision: people raise their eyebrows or tilt their head back to see. This is measured with a visual field test. In that case blepharoplasty is more than cosmetic.
Perimetry at RB CLINICSurgery
The surgeon removes a strip of excess skin above the crease and, if needed, a little fat. The stitch sits in the natural lid crease. You spend about two and a half hours at the clinic; no hospital stay.
The surgeon draws the lines on your lids personally while you watch in a mirror what will be removed.

The operation is two millimetres from the eye. Before blepharoplasty, one of Dr Darbuzov’s patients was found to have a pre-glaucoma condition and had laser iridotomy first (Dr Zhukeev). No aspirin-containing drugs for a week before; no make-up or contact lenses on the day.

Westernisation

Westernisation changes the shape of the eye opening and creates an upper lid crease where it is faint or absent. Epicanthoplasty removes the skin fold at the inner corner of the eye. The surgeon will tell you at the exam which of these suits you.
