Timing
It is usually worth waiting until the tissues have settled. Right after surgery the lid is swollen and the scar firm and pink — and much of what worries you in the first weeks goes away on its own. That is why a repeat operation is rarely done early.
Swelling, a firm scar, the lid doesn’t feel like yours. Too early to judge the result.
The swelling goes down, the scar fades and softens. From photos the surgeon can see how healing is going.
You can see what really remains. Then, if needed, a repeat operation is planned.
Constant dryness, stinging or redness is a reason to be seen straight away. In such cases the surgeon may offer help sooner.
The surgeon will give the exact timing for your case from photos and an examination. Even if little time has passed since the first surgery, send a photo anyway — the surgeon will tell you whether to wait or act.
